I’m Danny Harris, the founder and head coach of OPEX Bristol, where I’ve been helping people in Bristol get stronger, healthier, and more confident since 2014. Over the last decade, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients — from complete beginners who’ve never set foot in a gym, to competitive powerlifters chasing personal bests.
My coaching is rooted in the belief that fitness is about more than just what happens inside the gym. That’s why I focus not only on strength training and conditioning, but also on the habits that support lasting progress — nutrition, lifestyle, recovery, and stress management. I know first-hand that consistency and balance matter more than perfection, and I build those principles into every client’s program.
I hold a REPs Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, and over the past decade I’ve used this training to help hundreds of clients in Bristol achieve their fitness goals — from beginners to competitive athletes.”
I continually update my knowledge so that I can combine proven training principles with the latest evidence in health and performance. I have studied with the best of the best like OPEX, Functional Movement Systems, BWLA, Precision Nutrition.
At OPEX Bristol, we’ve developed a unique Small Group Personal Training model: clients get the structure, accountability, and personalisation of 1-to-1 training, while also enjoying the motivation and community of training in a group. For many, this creates the perfect balance of expert coaching, affordable access, and long-term sustainability.
Outside the gym, I’m a husband, a coach, and someone who loves experimenting with training myself. I understand the ups and downs of motivation, the challenges of juggling work and family, and the importance of making fitness fit yourlife — not the other way around.
